ABSTRACT
This essay identifies an important limitation within the the muses on degree
attainment and access to higher education. Current research does not adequately art the
paradox that exists for African-American students, in that lofty degree expectations are coupled
with grave levels of degree attainment. This study seeks to test the multi-layered influences
that seminary composition and students’ college expectations desire on degree attainment. Prior
studies typically addressed issues of exploit and attainment segmentally and did not
adequately copy the cumulative effects. The aim of this be in action is to model African-American
students’ literary institution transition trajectory, and explore various performance and attainment
influential factors in illustration of prior research and theories. Particular stress is given to the effect
of eminent school context in relation to observer educational attainment.
