Description

The cashew nut is a prevailing snack and food source. Cashews, dissimilar other oily tree nuts, contain starch to near 10% of their weight. This makes them greater degree of effective than other nuts in thickening supply with ~ -based dishes such as soups, diet stews, and some Indian milk-based desserts. Many Southeast Asian and South Asian cuisines conversion to an act cashews for this unusual characteristic, in preference than other nuts.
The shell of the cashew nut is toxic, which is why the shell is removed before it is sold to consumers.
Cashew nuts are commonly used in Indian cuisine, whole for garnishing sweets or curries, or domain into a paste that forms a base of sauces concerning curries (e.g., korma), or some sweets (e.g., kaju barfi). It is also used in powdered form in the adaptedness of several Indian sweets and desserts. In Goan cookery, both roasted and raw kernels are used sound for making curries and sweets.

Overview
Cashew nut work trends have varied over the decades. African countries used to exist the major producers before 1980s, India became the largest husbandman in 1990s, followed by Vietnam which became the largest producer in middle 2000s. Since 2007, Vietnam has befit the largest producer. Cashew nuts are produced in of the tropics countries because the tree is excessively frost sensitive; they have been adapted to different climatic regions around the world betwixt the latitudes of 25°N and 25°S.
