Catcher in the Rye
In the fresh “The Catcher in the Rye” Salinger writes the fib of Holden a character who narrates his chronicle after experiencing a break down. Holden is a teenager who has not long ago been expelled from his school in favor of failing his studies. He decides to leave but the isolation he faces in the teach continues to escalate when he immerses in the ripened world. Holden has a hard time accepting adulthood what one. he finds ‘phony’ and unlike the spotless and niceness of childhood. The description Holden gives of his life highlights his conflict on how to merge the brace worlds. Salinger uses motifs in the fresh to deliver the theme of separation. On of the key motif that Salinger uses is the motif of exit to communicate Holden’s isolation for the reason that of his own unique experiences and thoughts. Holden’s segregation is revealed throughout the novel since the motif of death weaves itself in Holden’s recital.
At the beginning of the romance Holden begins to show his unwillingness to enlarge up. Even though he has been sent absent from his school because of bankruptcy his exams, he does not accept the severe repercussions “They gave me every-day warnings to start applying myself- especially on every side mid-terms when my parents came up notwithstanding a conference with old Thurmer- goal I didn’t do it. So, I got the ax” (6). Salinger wants to impart the unusual feelings that Holden displays. Here Holden is shown in the same proportion that not scared or regretful but more readily he instead focus on his nearest move. He is also unable to take patiently the lecture he receives from his mistress Mr. Spencer about Holden’s what may occur hereafter. Since Holden is not keen attached an adult future he seeks each escape from that reality citing that is is fair-minded a phase “'I'm just going from one side a phase right now. Everybody goes from one side phases and all, don't they?" (15).
