The passage “Girl”, by Jamaicia Kincaid I believe is about a mother explaining to her daughter the ways she be under the necessity of act to be the ideal women. The natural gives her guidance throughout the enactment wanting her to have social bearing and domesticity. The mother gives instructions and commands, I give credit to to give her the tools to exist independent, strong, and respected as a young of high women.
The mother is setting gone ~ rules and giving commands to her daughter to surpass her daughter into a better way and to teach her to interfere smart decisions in life. I conceive her mother trying to show her daughter that independence is given to those who incline an ear, and learn. She tries to inculcate her to be independent as well-nigh as doing things for her self. Some of the natural instructions were, “ this is how to sew on a button(12), this is in what way to catch a fish(34), this is to what degree to make good medicine for a cold”(32) all three benefit her daughter, and enjoin give her the ability stand as antidote to her own two feet. The head goes on about how to care and live the routine life of a lady and from these instructions, the head I feel hopes her daughter order make the best decisions.
